I accept referrals from adult patients (aged over 18) who directly self-refer or who are referred by their GP.
The assessment involves a psychiatric examination which on average lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. Following the assessment a psychiatric formulation is completed, based upon the information available. At the time of the assessment patients are also presented with advice and/or a range of possible interventions (where appropriate). A detailed clinic letter is also prepared and will be forwarded to the patient.
Following the initial assessment, and where indicated, an option is available for patients to have access to follow-up appointments. These appointments would be focused upon treatment of the identified mental illness. Such appointments can be booked either for a half hour or full hour.
